Homework procedure
Homework is sent home in a book and returned in this. Homework is acknowledged but NOT marked in detail. Any issues will be picked up by the class teacher. You can write a comment in your child’s homework book. Your child’s teacher will read this but won’t necessarily write back. House points will be given for excellent homework.
Please ensure you sign your child’s reading diary.
Deadlines
If homework is not handed in on time children will be given a one day extension. If it is still not completed, children in Year 5 and 6 will be asked to stay in at break / lunchtime to complete it. There is a homework club after school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please speak to someone at the office to get more information about this.
Homework grid
At the end of each half term your child will receive a homework grid. There will be a variety of activities for your child to complete. Each activity will be worth a different number of points. They can choose which activities to complete, as long as they reach the minimum number of points. This homework grid will last throughout the half term (approximately 8 weeks). You will need to sign that the children have completed the activity, include evidence in their homework book (such as the written piece, photos etc.) or bring in their project work.
